The Impressive TimesNew Delhi, Feb 14,2025 : Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah will chair a high-level meeting today at 11 AM in North Block, New Delhi, to assess the implementation of India’s New Criminal Laws in Maharashtra. Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis will be present, along with top officials from law enforcement, judiciary, and state administration.
The review comes as part of the central government’s initiative to overhaul India’s criminal justice system. The new legal framework—comprising the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA)—aims to modernize outdated laws, improve law enforcement efficiency, and ensure a faster justice delivery system.
