New Delhi, July 30, 2024 : The General Manager of Northern Railway, Sh. Shobhan Chaudhuri, conducted a performance review meeting at Baroda House, New Delhi, focusing on safety, maintenance, and station redevelopment.
During the meeting with departmental heads and Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs), Chaudhuri emphasized the critical importance of safety across railway operations. He stressed that maintaining the tracks, rolling stock, signaling, and electric overhead wires in optimal condition is paramount. The General Manager urged departments to regularly conduct training and refresher courses for staff to minimize human error and ensure high safety standards.
In addition to safety, the review highlighted efforts to enhance passenger experience and modernize railway infrastructure under the Amrit Bharat Scheme. Chaudhuri assessed the progress of station redevelopment work, instructing officials to monitor and ensure the timely completion of projects. He emphasized the need for quality adherence to meet deadlines and achieve successful project outcomes.
The meeting also addressed challenges posed by the ongoing monsoon season. Chaudhuri stressed the importance of safety during adverse weather conditions and directed all divisions to implement remedial actions against water logging and silt accumulation on tracks. These measures aim to prevent obstructions and ensure the smooth operation of trains.
