Telecom equipment manufacturing sales have crossed ₹50,000 crore under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme. According to data released by the Department of Telecommunications, the scheme has attracted investments of ₹3,000 crore within three years. Additionally, telecom exports have reached around ₹10,500 crore, resulting in the creation of more than 17,800 direct jobs and various indirect jobs.

The Department also highlighted that, as a result of the PLI Scheme, Networking Products, and other related initiatives, the gap between telecom imports and exports has narrowed. In the financial year 2023-24, the total value of goods exported exceeded ₹1,49,000 crore, compared to imports of over ₹1,53,000 crore.
