Bihar– The Election Commission of India has declared the schedule for the General Elections to the Legislative Assembly of Bihar, 2025, along with bye-elections for eight Assembly Constituencies.
The polling will take place in two phases — Phase I on November 6, 2025 (Thursday) and Phase II on November 11, 2025 (Tuesday).
To maintain the integrity of the election process and ensure a level playing field, the Commission has directed that no political party, candidate, group, or individual may publish any form of advertisement in the print media on the poll day or the day preceding it, unless the content has been pre-approved by the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) at the respective State or District level.
For Bihar, the restricted dates are as follows:
Phase I: November 5 and 6, 2025
Phase II: November 10 and 11, 2025
Those intending to release political advertisements in print media are required to submit their applications to the MCMC at least two days before the intended publication date.
To ensure timely processing, the MCMC units at both State and District levels have been fully operationalized, allowing for swift examination and certification of advertisements ahead of publication.
