New Delhi, August 17 : India’s 2-2 draw in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy against England was more than just a series result—it was a testament to the team’s resilience and never-say-die attitude. Reflecting on the hard-fought contests, all-rounder Shardul Thakur praised the collective spirit and determination that carried India through testing situations.

Speaking to Boria Majumdar on Revsportz, Shardul said, “Everyone gave in a lot of energy, even after long, tough sessions. No one showed any sign of letting the match go. India was in winning positions in most matches except Manchester, and while England had the home advantage, we matched them with spirit and determination.”

Thakur highlighted how individual brilliance often lifted the team. From Jasprit Bumrah’s fiery spells and crucial hundreds in the first match, to Shubman Gill’s fluent batting, Rishabh Pant’s fighting centuries, KL Rahul’s composure, and key breakthroughs by Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj, India found heroes across the squad.

Even the lower order rose to the occasion. Dhruv Jurel (34) and Washington Sundar (53) stitched a vital partnership in the Oval Test, helping India post 396 and secure a 373-run lead, eventually sealing victory by just six runs.

“Team India always had their spirits high. Individual performances inspired the rest to follow and perform,” Thakur added, underscoring how collective belief transformed isolated moments of brilliance into a fighting campaign.
