Samskrit Bharati Inaugurates New National Headquarters ‘Pranavah’ in New Delhi

Grand Ceremony Marks Push for Revival and Expansion of Sanskrit Language Mission

New Delhi, April 20, 2026: The organisation Samskrit Bharati inaugurated its newly constructed national headquarters named “Pranavah” at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg near ITO in the national capital on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, marking a significant milestone in its language promotion initiative.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior dignitaries including Mohan Bhagwat, Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, along with scholars, representatives and supporters of the organisation.

The event began with traditional rituals including pooja and havan, followed by the formal unveiling of the organisation’s emblem and inauguration of the new facility, which has been designed to serve as a central hub for Sanskrit education and outreach activities.

Addressing the gathering, Mohan Bhagwat described the name “Pranavah” as symbolic of the sacred sound Om, representing universal consciousness, and highlighted the importance of launching the centre on an auspicious day associated with prosperity and new beginnings.

He said the headquarters would play a key role in strengthening efforts to promote Sanskrit learning across India and contribute to cultural and intellectual development.

Organisers stated that Sanskrit is being promoted not only as a language but also as a medium of values and cultural expression aimed at shaping a more harmonious society.

The programme also featured video messages of blessings from spiritual institutions and congratulatory messages acknowledging the inauguration of the new facility.

Speaking at the event, senior representatives of Samskrit Bharati reiterated the organisation’s long term goal of expanding Sanskrit learning across the country, including efforts to reach a significant portion of the population through spoken language initiatives.

They also highlighted that the organisation is approaching five decades of its work in promoting Sanskrit education and cultural awareness.

The new headquarters is expected to serve as a coordination centre for training programmes, educational initiatives and outreach activities aimed at increasing the use of Sanskrit in daily communication.

The ceremony concluded with expressions of gratitude to all dignitaries and participants who contributed to the successful inauguration of the facility.

Officials associated with the organisation said the centre represents a renewed commitment to expanding the reach of Sanskrit in modern society through structured learning programmes and community engagement.
