The grand memorial of Raja Nahar Singh inaugurated at the Dussehra ground in Ballabhgarh

Faridabad, 1 January 2024– Faridabad illuminated with the inauguration of grand memorial of Raja Nahar Singh, the immortal martyr of the country’s first freedom struggle and ruler of Ballabhgarh by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat at the Dussehra ground in Ballabhgarh. The ceremony witnessed the presence of former CM of Haryana Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh Hooda, former CM Chaudhary Om Prakash Chautala, Mathura MP Hema Malini, BJP National Secretary OP Dhankhar, Rajasthan Princess Krishnendra Kaur Deepa, Haryana Cabinet Minister Moolchand Sharma, former Cabinet Minister Chaudhary Karan Singh Dalal and Haryana Congress President Chaudhary Udaybhan.

This grand memorial, 40-feet high monument stands as a testament to Raja Nahar Singh’s unwavering commitment to freedom built by the prominent farmer leader and social worker of the region, Satyaveer Dagar. Governor Acharya Devvrat emphasized the importance of sharing the hero’s life story with future generations. He added Raja Nahar Singh’s early leadership and resistance against British occupation in Delhi. Despite the chance to compromise, Singh’s sacrifice led to his public hanging. Addressing the crowd, Hema Malini praised the Jaat community’s historical role in safeguarding the nation, drawing attention to their contributions in both security forces and the realm of beauty. Former CM Bhupendra Singh Hooda urged everyone to propagate the tales of great patriots like Raja Nahar Singh, emphasizing the need to remember and honor their sacrifices. Former CM Chaudhary Karan Singh Dalal called for honoring Raja Nahar Singh with the Bharat Ratna title. Minister Moolchand Sharma highlighted that Raja Nahar Singh was neglected for 150 years, and under CM Manohar Lal government, two statues have been installed in Ballabhgarh.

He personally contributed Rs 11 lakh for each statue. With this, Social worker Satyaveer Dagar called on the people of Faridabad to unite and showcase their respect for Raja Nahar Singh. He added that the memorial is a 17.5-feet high Ashtadhatu statue on a 20-feet high iron and concrete platform, stands as a symbol of Raja Nahar Singh’s indomitable spirit. Princess Krishnendra Deepa commended Satyaveer Dagar for his dedication in constructing the monument, stating that such endeavors contribute to creating new chapters in the country’s history. On this occasion, UP Cabinet Minister Lakshmi Narayan, State Congress President Udaybhan, former ministers Karan Singh Dalal, MLA Sombir Sangwan, Hathin MLA Praveen Dagar, MLA Rajesh Nagar, MLA Narendra Gupta, MLA Neeraj Sharma, former MLA Jagat Singh, former MLA Raghubir Tewatia, District President BJP Gopal Sharma, Pt. Tipper Chand Sharma, Vipul Goyal and many other dignitaries were present.
