New Delhi : New Delhi Railway Station, one of the busiest railway hubs in the country, is implementing a series of strategic measures to prevent overcrowding and ensure smooth passenger movement. Northern Railway has announced that all special trains heading to Prayagraj will now be operated exclusively from platform number 16. Additionally, passengers traveling on these special trains will be required to enter and exit through the Ajmeri Gate side of the station. Regular train operations will continue as usual across all platforms.
This move aims to prevent the accumulation of passengers at a single platform, thereby minimizing chaos during peak hours. By allocating a specific platform and designated entry/exit points for special trains, authorities seek to streamline the movement of devotees traveling to Prayagraj for religious purposes and other travelers. This structured approach will reduce the chances of overcrowding, which has been a major concern during festival seasons and special events.
To enhance security and facilitate smooth operations, the deployment of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel has been significantly increased at the New Delhi Railway Station. These trained personnel are actively assisting passengers by guiding them toward their respective platforms and ensuring compliance with security protocols. Their presence will also help prevent any untoward incidents and maintain order amid the ongoing rush.
Northern Railway has taken additional measures to accommodate the surge in travelers. Today, five special trains will be operated specifically to facilitate devotees traveling to Prayagraj. This initiative aims to provide a hassle-free travel experience, ensuring that devotees reach their destination comfortably and safely.
In an effort to provide real-time assistance to passengers, Northern Railway has emphasized the use of its helpline service. Travelers can dial Railways Helpline No. 139 for any inquiries, including train schedules, platform details, and other essential passenger support services. This helpline is operational 24/7 and is equipped to handle queries related to reservations, train timings, security concerns, and emergency assistance.
