BJP Slams Delhi AAP Govt for Failing People by Ignoring Central Schemes

New Delhi, Feb 3, 2025: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi, accusing it of neglecting crucial central schemes such as the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The party alleged that this negligence has caused significant injustice to the people of Delhi, particularly those from the Purvanchal community.

During the discussion on the motion of thanks to the President’s address in the Lok Sabha, BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri criticized the AAP government for allegedly deteriorating the city’s infrastructure, mismanaging the public transport system, and providing substandard education and healthcare services.

He dismissed accusations that the Narendra Modi-led central government had failed to contribute to Delhi’s progress over the past decade. “To those who claim that the Modi government has done nothing for Delhi, I challenge them to listen carefully. Ever since Modi Ji became Prime Minister, several transformative projects have been undertaken for Delhi’s development,” Bidhuri stated.

Highlighting key infrastructure projects, he said, “The Centre took the initiative to construct the peripheral road to ease congestion, yet the AAP government did not contribute even a single rupee. Despite this, our government remained committed to completing the work for the betterment of the city.”

Bidhuri further accused the Delhi government of failing to support major infrastructural advancements spearheaded by the Centre. He pointed out that when the central government developed the world’s largest eco-park in South Delhi, the AAP administration failed to provide any financial backing. Similarly, the Centre-funded 1.5-kilometer-long tunnel at Pragati Maidan, which has significantly improved traffic movement in the capital, received no monetary assistance from the Delhi government.

“In the last ten years, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi has witnessed several world-class infrastructure projects. But instead of contributing to these developments, the AAP government has focused only on misleading the people with false claims and hollow promises,” Bidhuri alleged.

The BJP leader also took a dig at the AAP’s handling of public services, saying that despite tall claims, the government’s performance in healthcare and education remains poor. “The so-called ‘model schools’ have failed to provide quality education, and the healthcare system is in a dismal state. The much-publicized mohalla clinics are neither adequately staffed nor equipped to meet the needs of the people,” he remarked.

The BJP has repeatedly accused the AAP government of prioritizing political theatrics over governance and failing to collaborate with the Centre for Delhi’s holistic development. The party asserted that had the AAP administration supported central initiatives, the national capital would have witnessed even more progress.

The debate in Parliament reflected the intensifying political battle between the BJP and AAP ahead of the upcoming elections, with both sides eager to claim credit for the city’s development.
