Fugitive Criminal Arrested in Delhi with Illegal Weapon After Two-Month Manhunt

January 23, 2025: As per guidelines of Election Commission of India, and keeping in view of Delhi legislative Assembly elections, a drive against illicit liquor, drug, and illegal arms is being conducted. The Crime Branch team, WR-II, successfully apprehended a desperate fugitive criminal, Danish @ Ashik @ DK, R/o Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar, Delhi aged 21 years. Danish had been evading arrest for the past two months, frequently changing his hideouts. He was previously involved in two serious criminal cases and was wanted for his role in an attempt to murder at PS Ranhola, Delhi.

The WR-II team has been relentlessly working to apprehend notorious criminals and gangsters operating in Delhi/NCR. A tip-off was received by HC Mayank, stating that Danish @ Ashik @ DK, a budding gangster, was wanted in an attempt to murder case and was carrying an illegal weapon. His exact location was traced, and a raid was planned. A raiding team led by Insp. Akshay, comprising SI Ravi Bhushan, HC Mayank, HC Vinod Sharma, and HC Naveen Sharma, under the close supervision of ACP Ravinder Kumar Rajput, was formed by undersigned to nab the absconding accused.

The operation culminated in a successful raid, where Danish @ Ashik @ DK was arrested at DDA Park, Hastsal, Uttam Nagar, Delhi. 01 country-made pistol and 01 live cartridge were recovered from his possession. A case under FIR No. 14/25, U/s 25 Arms Act, was registered at PS Crime Branch, Delhi.During interrogation, Danish revealed that he had been inspired by gangster videos on YouTube, which motivated him to engage in similar criminal activities. He confessed to being part of an attack on one Rajesh Fadda in Ranhola, Outer Delhi, on November 17.11.2024, along with his associates—Tarun Thapa, Ayush, Ravi @ Golu, Farhan, Kamal, and Guddu. They struck Rajesh with an iron rod, and Ayush fired at him before fleeing the scene. This incident led to the registration of FIR No. 789/2024 under sections 109(1)/3(5) BNS r/w 25/27 Arms Act at PS Ranhola.

Danish further disclosed that he and his friend Ayush were in a rivalry with Chintu from the Neeraj Bawana Gang. To protect himself from his rivals, he purchased a country-made pistol along with ammunition a few months ago.

Danish @ Ashik @ DK completed his education up to the 7th grade at a government school in Hastsal, Uttam Nagar, Delhi. He discontinued his studies after coming into contact with bad elements. The accused was influenced by gangster-related content he watched on YouTube and social media, which motivated him to engage in similar criminal activities.
