Noida, 7 Oct 2024: As Noida approaches its 50th anniversary, the Noida Authority has unveiled an ambitious development plan aimed at sustainable growth and public engagement. During a press conference held on Monday, Lokesh M, CEO of the Noida Authority, shared key insights regarding the city’s development, emphasizing the acceleration of ongoing projects. He affirmed that the allocated funds will facilitate faster execution of developmental activities. “We are dedicated to transforming Noida, and our plans will soon translate into visible progress,” he stated. The authority has allocated a substantial budget of Rs. 3,102 crores for various development projects over the next 1 to 1.5 years, marking a significant commitment to enhancing the city’s infrastructure.
CEO Lokesh M outlined several ambitious projects set to reshape Noida. A grand golf course is being developed on 5,000 square meters of land in Sector 151A, with an investment of Rs.140 crores. This new facility, alongside the existing golf course, is expected to be completed by 2025. Additionally, a new Noida Authority office is under construction in Sector 96, covering 6 acres at a cost of Rs. 304 crores, scheduled for completion in January 2025. To alleviate traffic congestion on Dadhari Road, the Bhangeal Elevated Road is underway, projected to cost Rs. 608 crores and also set to finish by January 2025. Furthermore, a proposed elevated road starting from the Delhi border to the Mahamaya Flyover will involve an investment of Rs. 787 crores, with construction expected to commence shortly. CEO Lokesh M further detailed other significant initiatives, including the construction of the Hindon Approach Road between Sectors 146 and 147, a skywalk between Sector 51 and Sector 52 metro stations, and various beautification projects throughout the city.
The authority has approved beautification plans for key markets, including the Sector 18 market, Godavari Market in Sector 37, and the market in Sector 110. In addition to urban initiatives, he highlighted a commitment to rural development, with a budget of Rs. 113 crores allocated for the current financial year. Of this, Rs. 32 crores have already been spent. Projects include the construction of two bridges near the irrigation canal in Salarpur, a wedding hall in Salarpur village, and playgrounds in Nangli Wajidpur and Nangli Sakhpur villages. The development of a badminton court and a wrestling arena in village Sorakha is also part of the plan. As Noida celebrates 47 years of progress and prepares to mark its 50th anniversary,
CEO Lokesh M informed that the city is set to engage its citizens, officials, and various administrative bodies in a series of initiatives aimed at furthering its development. Plans are underway to organize a marathon that emphasizes Noida’s growth and encourages public participation. Additionally, a tender for a knowledge portal has been approved, which will serve as a resource hub for residents. Over the next three years, numerous festivals will also be conducted to enrich the cultural landscape of Noida and establish a distinct character for the city as it moves toward this significant milestone. CEO reiterated the Noida Authority’s commitment to maintaining high-quality standards across all construction projects, stating, “Quality is paramount, and any negligence will not be tolerated.” These initiatives reflect Noida’s determination to enhance its infrastructure and quality of life for its residents, setting the stage for a prosperous future.
