Lakshmi Narayan Temple Foundation Day Celebrated with Devotion in Faridabad

Faridabad, April 17, 2026: A vibrant display of faith and cultural unity marked the annual foundation celebration of Lakshmi Narayan Temple in Sector 14, Faridabad, organised under the guidance of Narayan Seva Sansthan. The temple complex came alive with floral decorations and colourful arrangements, drawing a large gathering of devotees who participated wholeheartedly in the sacred festivities.

The event began with the traditional lighting of the lamp and an invocation dedicated to Lord Ganesha. This was followed by devotional singing, sacred fire rituals, and religious ceremonies that created a deeply spiritual environment. Devotees from across the city joined in prayers, reflecting collective devotion and enthusiasm throughout the event.

Deputy General Manager of Indian Oil Corporation Krishna Singhal attended the celebration as the chief guest. Industrialist Navdeep Chawla, former President of the Faridabad Industries Association, was present as the guest of honour. The programme was led by Ashok Kumar Gupta, President of Narayan Seva Sansthan. Among other distinguished attendees were General Secretary Dr Arun Gupta, social worker Deepak Aggarwal associated with RSS, and Rajendra Kumar Mahajan, former President of the organisation and retired Deputy General Manager from Escorts Limited.

A key highlight of the event was the unveiling of the statue of late Dr M L Gupta. Dignitaries offered floral tributes and remembered his invaluable role in shaping community welfare and social initiatives in the region.

Dr M L Gupta, born in 1918 in Noorkot Shakkargarh, now part of Pakistan, devoted his life to medical service and humanitarian work. After earning his medical degree, he joined Punjab Civil Medical Services and later became the first qualified MBBS doctor in Faridabad upon his association with B K Hospital in 1960. Known for his humble approach, he would often visit patients at their homes on a bicycle and charge minimal fees, extending financial help to those in need.

He later served as Chief Medical Consultant at Escorts and contributed significantly to social development. His efforts led to the establishment of Mahajan Sabha Faridabad and played a crucial role in acquiring land for the Lakshmi Narayan Temple in Sector 14. His life continues to inspire generations through his dedication, simplicity and commitment to public service.
