Chandigarh– Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has directed the state’s education department to align its policies with the Vision 2047 goal, emphasising quality, accessibility, and employment-oriented learning under the National Education Policy.
During a high-level review meeting on a five-year implementation roadmap, the chief minister stressed the need to strengthen higher education and ensure that young people have access to industry-relevant and skill-driven academic programmes.
A key target discussed in the meeting was to increase the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in higher education to 50 percent by 2047. The government also plans to develop modern campuses for Sanskrit colleges by 2028 and introduce skill-based courses in at least 50 percent of academic programmes.
To encourage excellence, the state will provide financial support of ₹5 crore each to top-performing universities. The initiative aims to improve institutional standards and promote innovation in teaching and research.
The chief minister also highlighted the importance of reducing dropout rates among female students, expanding technical education, and upgrading educational infrastructure across the state.
Officials said the roadmap is designed to create a more inclusive and future-ready education system that supports both academic growth and employability.
