Gurugram- A shocking family tragedy unfolded in Gurugram, where a 39-year-old man allegedly poisoned his wife and four children before attempting to take his own life. The incident occurred late Saturday night in Wazirpur village and has left the local community in deep shock.
According to police, the man is suspected of administering poison to his 35-year-old wife and their four children—three daughters aged 14, 12 and 10, and an eight-year-old son. After the act, he allegedly slit his wrist in an apparent suicide attempt. He was rushed to a government hospital and is currently in critical condition.
The crime came to light when the man’s brother arrived at the house around 9:30 pm and found the entire family unconscious on the first floor. They were immediately taken to a hospital, where doctors declared the woman and all four children dead.
Police officials said the family, originally from Moradabad, had been living in Gurugram for several years. The accused reportedly ran a salon in the area. Authorities have informed the woman’s relatives, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
Investigators indicated that preliminary findings point towards domestic issues as a possible motive, though the exact reason behind the incident is still unclear. Officials added that all angles are being examined, including whether poisoning was the sole cause of death.
The accused will be questioned once his condition stabilises. Meanwhile, police continue to gather evidence from the scene to piece together the sequence of events leading to the tragedy.
