Chennai, May 7, 2026: Gopalkrishna Gandhi has penned an open letter to Chief Minister elect C. Joseph Vijay, congratulating him on his electoral victory while also offering guidance on governance, public responsibility and democratic values.
In the letter, Gandhi praised Vijay’s rise in Tamil Nadu politics and described the public mandate as a moment carrying both opportunity and accountability. He advised the incoming leader to govern with humility, restraint and sensitivity towards every section of society.
Highlighting the importance of constitutional principles, Gandhi urged Vijay to protect democratic institutions and ensure that governance remains people centric and inclusive. He also cautioned against arrogance in power and stressed the need to maintain dignity in political discourse.
The former Governor reportedly encouraged the actor turned politician to remain accessible to ordinary citizens and to focus on social harmony, transparency and welfare driven administration. He noted that the expectations from the new government would be high and called for leadership that rises above divisions.
The letter has drawn attention across political and public circles in Tamil Nadu as Vijay prepares to formally assume office following his party’s electoral success in the state Assembly elections.
