Bihar- Two student deaths reported from different districts of Bihar within hours of each other have raised concern, with police initiating investigations in both cases and not ruling out suicide as a possible cause.
In Kishanganj, a 24-year-old second-year MBBS student was found dead inside her hostel room at a private medical college late Friday night. According to police officials, the hostel administration alerted authorities after discovering the incident.
A police team reached the spot and shifted the body for postmortem examination. Officials confirmed that forensic experts documented the scene and collected evidence for further analysis. The student, originally from Bhojpur district, was reportedly found hanging in her room, though investigators said the exact cause will only be confirmed after medical reports are received.
Senior district officials, including Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar and District Magistrate Vishal Raj, visited the site and directed a detailed inquiry. Police are currently speaking with fellow students, hostel residents, and college authorities to piece together the circumstances leading to her death.
In a separate incident in Jamui, a Class 10 student of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Barhat was found dead within the school campus. School staff described the student as academically bright and said he had recently returned after undergoing treatment for migraine.
Preliminary information suggests the student may have been staying alone at the time. Police identified him as the son of a government school teacher from a nearby village. His death triggered unrest in the area, with family members and locals staging protests and blocking a key road, demanding answers from the administration.
Officials in both districts have emphasized that investigations are ongoing and conclusions will depend on postmortem findings and forensic evidence.
