G20 Energy Ministers Hold Pre-Summit Discussions Ahead of Durban ETMM

Ministers from Japan, Singapore, and Denmark engage in talks on energy transitions and global cooperation

Durban, October 10 — On the eve of the G20 Energy Transitions Ministerial Meeting (ETMM) scheduled to be held in Durban, a courtesy meeting was organised with industry and energy ministers from G20 nations. The gathering took place following the Energy Transitions Working Group meeting and dinner held a day earlier.

During the discussions, ministers exchanged detailed views on the upcoming ETMM agenda, focusing on global energy transition strategies, sustainable development, and international cooperation. Productive dialogues were held with Japan’s Industry Minister Mr. Katho Akiyashi, Singapore’s Industry Minister Mrs. Gan Siow Huang, and Denmark’s Energy Minister Mr. Lars Aagaard.

The meeting set a positive tone for the official ministerial deliberations, emphasizing collaboration on renewable energy adoption, technology exchange, and policy alignment among G20 countries to accelerate the global shift towards clean and secure energy futures.
