Indian chess sensation R Praggnanandhaa added another major international title to his growing list of achievements by winning the Grand Chess Tour St. Louis Rapid & Blitz 2026 championship in the United States.

The 20-year-old Grandmaster secured the title before the final round after holding Uzbekistan‘s Javokhir Sindarov to a draw in the penultimate game. The result took Praggnanandhaa to 23 points out of a possible 35, leaving him 1.5 points clear of the chasing pack and ensuring an unassailable lead.

The victory marks Praggnanandhaa’s first-ever Grand Chess Tour Rapid & Blitz championship, highlighting his continued rise among the world’s elite players. The achievement also adds to an exceptional season in which the young Indian has consistently delivered strong performances on the international circuit.
