Delhi Police confers honorary ranks on 202 retiring personnel at PHQ ceremony

New Delhi : A grand Pipping Ceremony was organised today at Adarsh Auditorium, Police Headquarters, Delhi, where 202 retiring police personnel were conferred honorary ranks on the day of their retirement. The ceremony was presided over by Anurag Kumar, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, who, along with senior officers, ceremonially adorned the retiring personnel—from Constable to Sub-Inspector—with the badges of their next higher honorary ranks.

Addressing the gathering, Anurag Kumar, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, congratulated all retiring personnel and their family members on the occasion. He acknowledged their unwavering commitment, professionalism, and dedicated service to the Delhi Police and the nation. He observed that policing is one of the most demanding and challenging professions, where every day presents new responsibilities and unforeseen situations. He commended the retiring personnel for discharging their duties with the highest standards of integrity, competence, and dedication throughout their careers.

The CP/Delhi also highlighted the immense personal sacrifices made by police personnel in the line of duty, noting that the demanding nature of policing often leaves little time for family life. He expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the family members of the retiring personnel, recognising their unwavering support, patience, and sacrifices, which enabled the officers to perform their duties with dedication and commitment.

Reflecting on the long years of service rendered by the retiring personnel, the CP/Delhi expressed hope that their post-retirement years would provide them with the opportunity and time to pursue personal aspirations, interests and dreams that may have remained unfulfilled during their service.

The CP/Delhi assured the retirees that they would always remain an integral part of the Delhi Police family and that the organisation would continue to stand by them whenever required. He concluded by extending his heartfelt congratulations to all the retirees and thanked everyone associated with organising the ceremony for making the occasion memorable.

A total of 202 police personnel were conferred honorary ranks during the ceremony, including Head Constable to Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) – 07; Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) to Sub-Inspector – 37; Sub-Inspector to Inspector – 158.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Suman Goyal, IPS, Jt. CP/Headquarters.

The event was attended by senior officers of Delhi Police, the police personnel receiving honorary ranks, and their family members, making it a memorable and proud occasion.
