Chandigarh– The Haryana government has stepped up its disaster preparedness measures ahead of the monsoon season, activating a comprehensive strategy to tackle potential floods, heatwaves and drought-like conditions across the state.

Authorities are strengthening round-the-clock control rooms, conducting mock drills and enhancing real-time monitoring systems to ensure swift response during emergencies. Search and rescue operations are also being streamlined to minimise risks to life and property.

Dr. Sumita Mishra, Financial Commissioner of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, has directed all district administrations to reinforce coordinated response mechanisms and ensure effective early warning systems.

Officials said the focus is on proactive planning and inter-departmental coordination so that timely action can be taken in case of extreme weather events. The government aims to reduce damage and improve resilience through preparedness and rapid response infrastructure.
