Amit Shah to Visit West Bengal on March 28 as BJP Unveils Chargesheet Against Trinamool Congress

Union Home Minister’s Tour Aims to Highlight Alleged Misgovernance Ahead of Assembly Polls

New Delhi, 26 March 2026 – Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit West Bengal on 28 March as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s intensified campaign in the run‑up to the 2026 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, scheduled for April. During his visit, Shah will hold a high‑profile press conference to formally release a “chargesheet” and detailed White Paper outlining the BJP’s allegations against the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) government, asserting years of corruption, administrative failures, and governance lapses under its rule.

According to party sources, this document is expected to list alleged irregularities in public recruitment, financial mismanagement, and purported law‑and‑order shortcomings by the TMC administration, which has governed the state for more than a decade. The BJP intends to use the chargesheet to sharpen its political messaging, accusing the incumbent government of systemic issues and pledging to tackle what it terms “mafia rule” and illegal networks if elected to power.

In addition to the chargesheet, the BJP plans to release a comprehensive White Paper that is likely to include sector‑wise assessments and case studies aimed at substantiating the party’s claims of misgovernance. The West Bengal elections are shaping up to be fiercely contested, with the BJP striving to make significant inroads against the TMC’s stronghold, even as questions of governance, development and law‑and‑order dominate political discourse.
