Young swimmer Daksh Dhankhar makes debut with three medals in Haryana State Junior Swimming Championship

- 10-year-old from Bahadurgarh clinches silver in 50m breaststroke and bronze in backstroke, freestyle on National Sports Day at Champions Aquatic Academy, HL City, Bahadurgarh

Bahadurgarh: Daksh Dhankhar, a 10-year-old resident of Dev Nagar, won three medals at the Haryana State Junior Swimming Championship held on National Sports Day at Champions Aquatic Academy, HL City, Bahadurgarh to mark Major Dhyan Chand’s birth anniversary. Competing in Group 4 on the opening day of the three-day sports festival, Daksh secured a silver medal in the 50m breaststroke and bronze medals in the 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle events. This was Daksh’s first participation in any competition, and he won three medals in his debut attempt. He credited his success to his grandparents Dharampal Dhankhar and Satwanti Devi, his parents, Haryana Olympic Association Vice President Anil Khatri, and his coach. Daksh was honored by 1971 Indo-Pak war veteran and Sangram Medal awardee Mahendra Pehlwan, who presented him the medals. Ashok Kumar, Suresh Joon, Sunil Khatri, and Haryana Swimming Association General Secretary and Haryana Olympic Association Vice President Anil Khatri were also present and encouraged Daksh for future achievements.
