Delhi Police Crack Down on Illegal Arms in Outer North District, Nine Arrested

Cyber Patrolling Leads Police to Social Media Gun Flaunters

New Delhi- In a major operation ahead of the 79th Independence Day, the Outer North District Police carried out a massive crackdown on illegal arms holders through cyber patrolling. The operation led to the arrest of nine notorious criminals and the recovery of one semi-automatic pistol, 23 country-made pistols (desi katta), and 30 live cartridges.

Acting on cyber inputs collected by the Cyber Police Station Outer North District under the leadership of Insp. Govind Singh (SHO/Cyber/OND), the police identified individuals flaunting illegal arms on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Multiple teams from AATS, Special Staff, and police stations Shahbad Dairy, Bhalswa Dairy, NIA, and Swaroop Nagar were formed under the overall supervision of DCP Hareshwar V. Swami, IPS.

Team AATS & ABS nabbed three accused — Yameen alias Joni (28), Shri Ram alias Chotu (21), and Aaditya (19) — and recovered nine country-made pistols, one semi-automatic pistol, and 15 live cartridges.

Team Special Staff apprehended Aakash (21) and Amarjeet alias Happy (26), recovering 10 country-made pistols and nine cartridges.

Teams of Shahbad Dairy, Bhalswa Dairy, NIA, and Swaroop Nagar arrested Sonal Mishra (23), Momin Khan (25), Noor Hasan (26), and Anand alias Mitthu (36), recovering four country-made pistols and six cartridges.

Accused Profiles & Criminal Background

Yameen alias Joni – Linked with the Neeraj Bawana gang; 3 previous cases of robbery and assault.

Sonal Mishra – History-sheeter with 14 cases of robbery, snatching, theft, and Arms Act violations.

Momin Khan – Involved in 4 cases under Arms Act, NDPS, and BNS offences.

Noor Hasan – A habitual offender with 50 prior criminal cases.

Other accused were found flaunting weapons on social media to instill fear in their localities.

Nine FIRs under Section 25 of the Arms Act have been registered across Shahbad Dairy, NIA, Bawana, Bhalswa Dairy, and Swaroop Nagar police stations.

A senior police officer stated,

“This operation demonstrates the ongoing efforts of Delhi Police to track criminals misusing social media, seize illegal firearms, and ensure peace and safety across Delhi-NCR.”

Further investigation is underway.
