Auraiya– On Tuesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed relief materials to flood-affected residents at the Auraiya Collectorate. He also handed over cheques to beneficiaries of various government schemes. Following the distribution, the Chief Minister interacted with the public and addressed the media.

CM Yogi stated that continuous heavy rainfall over the past 10–15 days has led to flooding in 21 districts of Uttar Pradesh. To ensure effective relief efforts, ministers-in-charge have been deployed in each affected district. They are closely monitoring rescue and relief operations in coordination with district and police administrations.

CM Yogi informed that to speed up relief efforts and provide financial aid to affected families, the government has deployed 16 NDRF teams, 18 SDRF teams, and 31 PAC flood units across flood-hit districts. Over 1,250 boats have also been arranged in all 21 affected districts to facilitate rescue operations and ensure safe evacuation of citizens.

Highlighting the situation in Auraiya, the Chief Minister noted that more than 5,000 families in 12 revenue villages have been affected due to the rising water levels in the Yamuna river. The flood situation has been triggered by the release of water from regions including Dholpur along the Chambal river in Rajasthan. Normally, the danger mark for the Yamuna is 113 meters; however, the water level rose over four and a half meters above this, resulting in flooding in the riverine areas of Agra, parts of Etawah, Auraiya, Jalaun, and extending up to Ballia.

The Chief Minister further added that control rooms have been established at both the state and district levels, along with flood posts in every village. Relief camps have been set up for those evacuated to safer locations, where arrangements have been made for breakfast, lunch, dinner, clean drinking water, and fodder for livestock. For those who can stay safely in their homes, flood relief kits are being distributed. Each kit contains 10 kg of flour, 10 kg of rice, 10 kg of potatoes, 2 kg of pulses, 1 kg of cooking oil, salt, spices, a dignity kit, a raincoat, and other essential items.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that in the unfortunate event of loss of life due to the floods, the affected family will receive an ex-gratia amount of Rs 4 lakh from the Disaster Relief Fund. Additionally, if a family’s home has been submerged or washed away by the river, efforts are underway to provide them with housing under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. Compensation is also being provided for the loss of livestock.

To safeguard public health, medical camps have been set up at various locations. Adequate stock of anti-rabies vaccines and anti-snake venom has been ensured at Community Health Centres (CHCs) and district hospitals to address emergencies arising from snake, scorpion, dog, or wild animal bites. Specialized teams have been deployed on a war footing for flood relief and rescue operations, and all district administrations have been directed to intensify their efforts.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to standing with every flood-affected citizen, assuring full support and assistance. He also announced that a survey is being conducted to assess the damage to crops, and as soon as the reports are submitted, compensation will be disbursed without delay.

CM Yogi urged residents to remain vigilant, especially as August begins, noting that the risk of flooding persists until September. He emphasized that the government and administration are fully prepared and will continue to provide all necessary support with utmost seriousness and efficiency.

On this occasion, Minister of State Pratibha Shukla, MLA Gudiya Katheria, District Panchayat President Kamal Dohre, Vice President of the Liquor Prohibition Council Brijesh Shukla, BJP District President Sarvesh Katheria, and District In-Charge Anand Singh were present.

The Chief Minister distributed agricultural subsidy cheques to Subhash Chandra and Devidayal from Aasta Mustakil (Auraiya), Sudhi Singh from Fariha village (Ajitmal tehsil), and Jagat Narayan. Under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, certificates were awarded to Shashi Devi and Lakshmi Devi from Chapta village, Priyanka Devi from Saidpur, Roli Devi from Keontra (received by her husband Vinod), and Shivprakash, all of whom were affected by natural calamities.

CM Yogi handed over ex-gratia cheques of ₹4 lakh each to Sitara Bano (wife of Sattar Ali from Bharsen village), Munni Lal (on behalf of Bhikha Devi of Salaiya village), and Sudha (mother of Shikha from Jai Karan Ka Purwa village) for loss of life in their families.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected regions between Agra and Auraiya to assess the severity of the situation on the ground. Upon reaching Auraiya, he instructed the local administration to expedite relief operations and ensure the prompt delivery of all necessary facilities and assistance to the affected population.

During his visit, the Chief Minister also participated in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam‘ campaign by planting an Ashoka tree.
