New Delhi- In a major step towards facilitating dignified second careers for India’s ex-servicemen, the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) — Delhi, Ropar, and Jammu centres — in collaboration with the Directorate General of Resettlement (DGR), organized the DGR Job Fair 2025 at NIELIT Delhi – Janakpuri Centre on August 2, 2025.

The job fair focused on placement opportunities for veterans trained under various IT and emerging tech courses at NIELIT. The initiative received an overwhelming response, with 14 reputed companies shortlisting candidates for over 250 vacancies in their respective organizations. More than 190 ex-servicemen registered for the event, which marked a strong step towards veteran empowerment through skilling and employment.

Welcoming the attendees, Dr. Alok Tripathi, Director (Scheme & Skilling) and Chief Controller of Examination, NIELIT, reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to bridging the gap between technical training and meaningful employment for defence personnel transitioning to civilian life.

Subhanshu Tiwari, Executive Director, NIELIT Delhi, served as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the event with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. Addressing the gathering, he remarked:

“The transition from military service to a civilian career is not merely a shift in occupation — it’s a transformation in identity. This job fair serves as a bridge between valour and vocation. It reflects our duty and privilege to empower those who have served the nation with honour.”

He appreciated the efforts of NIELIT Delhi for organizing the fair and thanked the participating companies for their support.

Group Captain Sanjay Roy, Director (Training), DGR, and Lt Col Jaideep Singh, Joint Director (Training), DGR, attended as Guests of Honour. Addressing the veterans, Group Captain Roy emphasized the importance of continuous skilling in today’s competitive job market and highlighted DGR’s commitment to launching more training programs tailored to current industry demands.

He lauded NIELIT’s efforts in creating a platform that connects skilled ex-servicemen with top recruiters across sectors.

Leading organizations such as CyberPeace, G4S, Kaidoko, RRGAURDUS, Stalwart Group, SiSProseg, Sidhi Infonet, Trig, and Onfinity Technologies participated in the fair. The roles offered spanned domains such as IT support, cybersecurity, logistics, digital operations, and administrative services, aligning closely with the technical and operational backgrounds of the veteran candidates.

The event was met with enthusiastic participation, with many ex-servicemen expressing their appreciation for the platform and the support offered by both government and industry stakeholders.
