Lok Sabha Adjourned Till 1 PM Following Opposition Protests Over Special Intensive Revision

Opposition MPs protest in the Well, calling for urgent debate on Special Intensive Revision
Operation Sindoor Stalled as Opposition Demands Answers on SIR

New Delhi– The Lok Sabha was adjourned until 1 PM on Monday after members of the Opposition created continuous disruptions in the House, demanding a discussion on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). The protest derailed the scheduled discussion on Operation Sindoor, a matter of national significance.

When the House resumed at 12 noon, Presiding Officer Krishna Prasad Tenneti initiated the tabling of official papers. However, Opposition MPs entered the Well of the House, shouting slogans such as “We want discussion on SIR” and holding placards that read “No SIR.”

Despite the protest, routine papers were laid on the table amidst rising commotion.

Speaker Om Birla repeatedly appealed to Opposition leaders to return to their seats, reminding them that the House was scheduled to discuss Operation Sindoor.

“First, you ask for a debate on Operation Sindoor, then you come into the Well of the House. If you truly wish to participate in the discussion, please go back to your seats,” the Speaker stated firmly.

He further emphasized that a productive debate could only occur if members maintained decorum.

Despite multiple requests, the Opposition continued their protest. The persistent disorder compelled the Speaker to adjourn the House until 1 PM. This marked the second adjournment of the day, as a similar disruption earlier had forced the session to be suspended until noon.
