Faridabad: The ongoing controversy over the demolition drive in Anangpur village has taken a political turn, with senior BJP leader and Former Cabinet Minister (Haryana) Kartar Singh Bhadana stepping in to calm tensions. Speaking at a press conference held at his Surajkund office, he appealed to villagers to act with restraint and not fall into the trap of political provocation.

The dispute arose after the Forest Department and the Municipal Corporation carried out demolition activities in Anangpur village, following a Supreme Court order related to land originally belonging to Raja Anangpal.

Kartar Singh Bhadana alleged that some opposition leaders were attempting to exploit the situation for political gain, stating, “Certain political figures are trying to fan unrest and disrupt the unity of Anangpur for their own interests. Villagers must remain united and not get misled.”

He expressed full confidence in Union Minister of State and Faridabad MP Krishan Pal Gurjar, who has assured residents that no further demolitions will be permitted. “The Minister has promised to stand in front of any bulldozer that enters the village. For the past four days, no demolition team has returned. This shows the sincerity of his commitment,” he noted.

Kartar Bhadana also emphasized the historic legacy of Anangpur village, which he said was established over 1100 years ago. “Traditionally, for every bigha of cultivated land, seven bighas of hilly terrain were allotted for cattle grazing. These lands are our ancestral property. But incorrect facts were presented before the Supreme Court, wrongly categorizing this land as forest area,” he claimed. He further explained that as per legal procedures, forest land acquisition requires compensation or voluntary consent.

“No such process was followed in this case. Even my legally approved farmhouses were demolished. While I have no personal regret over my loss, I will not allow the village to be destroyed,” he asserted.

He also stressed that the issue cannot be resolved through panchayats alone. “The solution lies in presenting the correct facts before the Supreme Court with the support of the government and officials. Only then can we save Anangpur,” he said.

Commenting on the upcoming village panchayat meeting scheduled for Sunday, he advised that such a meeting is currently unnecessary. “If needed, a local village-level meeting will be conducted first,” he added.

He also urged leaders of all political parties not to politicize the matter or provoke the public against the administration. “This issue should be resolved peacefully, within the framework of law. Creating unrest will only worsen the situation,” Kartar Bhadana concluded.
