Event Showcases India’s Organic Farming Potential, Launches Premium Apple Cider Vinegar and Nationwide Tree Plantation Drive

New Delhi, July 4: Union Minister of State for Cooperation, Krishan Pal Gurjar, inaugurated the Bharat Organics Mela 2025 at the World Trade Centre, New Delhi. Organized by the National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL), the event was held under the joint aegis of the Ministry of Cooperation and the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare. The mela brought together organic farmer groups, senior government officials, and key stakeholders to promote India’s thriving organic cooperative ecosystem.

Addressing the gathering, Krishan Pal Gurjar highlighted the transformative role of NCOL in empowering small and marginal farmers. “The Bharat Organics Mela exemplifies how the cooperative model can empower small farmers and bring safe, organic food to Indian households. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, NCOL is advancing the goal of ‘Sahakar Se Samriddhi’ through a whole-of-government approach,” he said. He urged citizens to join the organic movement for the benefit of the environment, health, and future generations.

Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani, emphasized NCOL’s role in creating a national platform for branding, certification, and market access for organic farmers. “NCOL is here to resolve marketing challenges for farmer groups. It not only ensures premium prices but also shares profits with cooperatives, making the organic economy farmer-centric and transparent,” he stated.

NCOL Chairman Meenesh Shah revealed that over 7,000 cooperatives from 19 states are already part of the Bharat Organics initiative. “We are building a credible, inclusive supply chain and aim to become a leading player in the organic sector within a decade,” he said. Managing Director Shri Vipul Mittal thanked stakeholders and reaffirmed NCOL’s mission to deliver value to farmers and health to consumers.

A major highlight of the mela was the launch of Bharat Organics’ premium-quality Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV), developed in collaboration with Unati Cooperative. Made from handpicked Himalayan apples using traditional, chemical-free fermentation techniques, the ACV is certified by FSSAI, USFDA, USDA Organic, and India Organic. It will be available on platforms like Amazon,BigBasket, Blinkit, Swiggy, and in Safal retail stores.

The event also launched the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” tree plantation campaign, symbolizing respect for both motherhood and nature. All dignitaries planted trees at the World Trade Centre premises.

Over 30 farmer groups from 15 states participated, showcasing more than 60 certified organic products including pulses, spices, natural sweeteners, and flour under the Bharat Organics brand. The mela successfully connected grassroots producers with national markets, reinforcing NCOL’s mission to build India’s largest farmer-led organic ecosystem.
