Operation Sindoor Continues Confirms Rajnath at All-Party Meeting

New Delhi, May 8 — Operation Sindoor is still active and ongoing, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh informed leaders during an all-party meeting, where political parties pledged their full support to the government’s efforts against terrorism originating from Pakistan.

Rajnath Singh emphasized that since the operation is still underway, it would not be appropriate to provide a detailed briefing or presentation on every development.

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, speaking to the media after the meeting, said, “Some leaders requested updates on the operation. The Defence Minister clarified that as it’s an ongoing mission, sharing detailed briefings or technical specifics isn’t suitable at this stage. The focus of the meeting was to build broad political consensus.”

The meeting, chaired by Rajnath Singh, saw participation from key figures including Leaders of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, and BJD’s Sasmit Patra.

Rijiju remarked, “In times of national crisis, there’s no room for politics. All leaders united in applauding the bravery and commitment of our armed forces during Operation Sindoor.”

He added, “They assured their backing for every government decision and expressed solidarity with the armed forces’ actions. Some MPs also offered constructive suggestions.”

Rahul Gandhi echoed this sentiment, stating that all political parties stand firmly with the government. Kharge noted, “We listened carefully to the briefing. They explained that sensitive defence details can’t be shared due to national security concerns. We assured them we are fully supportive in this critical moment.”

On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s absence from the meeting, Kharge said, “It’s his decision. Even last time he wasn’t present. But in this hour of challenge, we won’t criticize anyone.”

After the meeting, Asaduddin Owaisi told reporters, “I praised our armed forces and the government for Operation Sindoor. I also recommended launching an international push to get TRF designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the United States and urged the US to place Pakistan on the FATF grey list.”

On the night of May 6–7, India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting nine terror hubs inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
