HPCC carries out Torch March against BJP at the Ridge

CM lashes at BJP for resorting to cheap tactics to overthrow elected Government

Shimla ,11 March ,2024 –Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today participated in the Torch (Mashaal) procession carried out by the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) which started from the historic Ridge and culminated at Ambedkar Chowk, Chaura Maidan in Shimla today. The Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee carried out the march against the BJP and its allies, for trying to destabilize the state government by using unconstitutional means.

HPCC President Pratibha Singh, HP Legislative, all the Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Speaker, Chief Parliamentary Secretaries, MLAs, various office bearers, party leaders and party office bearers participated in the procession.
Addressing a huge gathering on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that BJP attempted to show dust to the democratic process and making mockery of the democratic norms in an unethical and undemocratic manner and tried to topple the congress government in the State, ignoring the huge mandate of the people given to congress. An attempt was made by the Central Government to attack the democratically elected State Government by using unconstitutional means.

He said that the previous government had worsened the fiscal health of the state and left a huge debt burden on the State. “We have not come for enjoying power but for serving the people of the State with a motto of ‘Vyavastha Parivartan “, he remarked. He said that the government will complete its five years tenure in the service of its people and not let the evil forces to hinder the development of the State.
We have fulfilled the five out of the 10 guarantees as promised to the people in the election manifesto in just 13 months of our regime, benefitting, all the sections of the society, whereas the BJP was trying to mislead the people on the same and misleading the people, he said.
