Faridabad Police’s ‘Operation Aakram’ results in 77 arrests, major seizures of illegal substances and weapons

Faridabad , 8 September , 2024 : Faridabad Police launched a major operation under the orders of Haryana Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapoor and under the direction of Faridabad Police Commissioner OP Narwal on Sunday. This operation conducted under the supervision of all Deputy Commissioners of Police, a total of 146 police teams, including crime branches, station heads and outpost in-charges, carried out a major crackdown on various criminal activities. During this special operation named ‘Operation Aakraman’, 547 policemen made a coordinated effort from 6 am to 12 noon at several places. The operation resulted in the arrest of 77 persons, including 14 proclaimed offenders, involved in theft, illicit liquor trade, drug trafficking, gambling and other crimes. A total of 60 cases were registered against the arrested persons. The police also seized a large quantity of illegal substances and items, including 532.5 bottles of country liquor, 321.5 bottles of foreign liquor and 15 liters of illicit liquor. Additionally, 1.545 kg of marijuana, 6 country-made pistols, 4 cartridges and 2 stolen motorcycles were seized. The drive also led to recovery of ₹80,870 in connection with illegal gambling activities. Traffic violators were also fined, with 475 drivers penalized for wrong-side driving.
