Five Arrested in Inter-State Ganja Smuggling Network; Source, Receiver, Supplier, and Transporter Nabbed

New Delhi – Five persons arrested — including the source, receiver, supplier, and transporter Odisha-based supplier and Noida-based receiver apprehended Additional recovery of 25 kg of Ganja from receiver’s residence.

1. The Inter-State Cell had earlier arrested two persons and recovered 288 Kgs of Cannabis (Ganja) from their possession. In follow-up action to the earlier seizure from accused Mukesh and Rajesh concealed in a truck cavity, the Inter State Cell, Crime Branch has successfully identified and arrested the source and receivers involved in the illicit network.

2. On 29.06.2025, the key source, Bhari Mal Nayak @ Nayak, resident of District Gajapati, Odisha, was apprehended from his hometown in Odisha.

3. In addition, the transporter/trader, identified as Yashvir Dahiya @ Satbir, resident of Haridwar, Uttarakhand, and the receiver, Sunil Nagar @ Gullu, resident of District Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, have also been arrested.

4. During interrogation, it was revealed that Yashvir Dahiya had procured the contraband from Bhari Mal Nayak on the instructions of Sunil Nagar @ Gullu.

5. A further recovery of 5 packets containing 25 kg of Ganja has been made from the flat of Sunil Nagar @ Gullu located in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Further investigation in the case is being carried out.
