New Delhi / Lucknow, September 2– On Monday, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari commended the Yogi Adityanath-led government for Uttar Pradesh’s remarkable achievement in becoming the leading state in the production of compressed biogas (CBG). This significant milestone highlights Uttar Pradesh’s commitment to renewable energy and positions it as a pioneer in the bioenergy sector. Gadkari’s praise came during his visit to the India Bio Energy and Tech Expo-2024, held at the Yashobhoomi Convention Center in Dwarka, Delhi. The event brought together leaders and innovators in the renewable energy field to discuss advancements and opportunities in bioenergy technology. Upon his arrival, Gadkari expressed confidence that under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, Uttar Pradesh would continue to set new benchmarks not only in CBG production but also in various energy sectors, fostering sustainable development in the state. As part of the expo, Gadkari took the opportunity to visit the stall of the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA). There, he was welcomed by Principal Secretary of Energy and Additional Energy, Narendra Bhushan, who highlighted the state’s initiatives and achievements in the bioenergy sector. Gadkari’s interest in Uttar Pradesh’s progress was evident, particularly when he learned that the state currently ranks first in India for compressed biogas production. His admiration for the state’s efforts reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing energy independence through innovative and sustainable solutions.
During his visit to the UPNEDA stall, Gadkari praised the advancements in compressed biogas production and bio-energy technologies showcased there. In this context, Gadkari also reached out to Mahindra Motors, suggesting the formulation of policies aimed at promoting CNG-based tractors, a move that could further enhance the agricultural sector’s sustainability. In addition to Gadkari’s remarks, Principal Secretary Narendra Bhushan provided an overview of the Uttar Pradesh Bio-Energy Policy-2022 to bio-energy developers from India and across the globe. He outlined the policy’s features and incentives designed to encourage investments in the renewable energy sector. Bhushan emphasized that Uttar Pradesh’s proactive approach to bio-energy development has already led to impressive achievements and positioned the state as a hub for renewable energy innovation.
