New Delhi, Nov 16,2023 – In the midst of his official visit to the United States, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal engaged with Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and venture capitalists (VCs), urging their support for India’s burgeoning talent pool in crucial technological domains such as Artificial Intelligence (AI).
During the interactive session, Minister Goyal encouraged participants to contribute their insights towards making India an increasingly attractive investment destination on the global stage. He also shared his vision for fostering growth within the Indian startup ecosystem.
In a subsequent roundtable discussion held at Stanford University, Minister Goyal collaborated with prominent academicians from various renowned institutions, including Stanford, UC Berkeley, Fresno State, UC Santa Cruz, UC Davis, and University of Silicon Andhra. The discussions revolved around exploring possibilities for collaboration and the establishment of joint campuses with foreign universities, with a particular emphasis on partnering with institutions like Stanford.
The event also witnessed an active exchange of ideas on pertinent global issues, providing a platform for diverse perspectives on how India can strategically collaborate with foreign educational institutions.
Minister Goyal further participated in an event titled “Charting New Horizons: CAs as Catalysts in the US-India Partnership,” hosted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) San Francisco Chapter. The interactive session with ICAI members underscored the pivotal role Chartered Accountants (CAs) can play in fortifying collaboration between India and the United States.
Emphasizing the significance of CAs as catalysts for fostering stronger ties between the two nations, Minister Goyal highlighted the potential for enhanced collaboration across various sectors.
Minister Goyal’s engagements in the United States reflect India’s commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration in emerging technological fields while strengthening ties with global partners.
