Two More Held in Delhi Trader Murder as Parking Dispute Turns Fatal

Police arrest two additional accused, including the main suspect’s stepson, as investigation deepens into the fatal shooting of a trader in East Delhi’s Preet Vihar.

New Delhi: Police have arrested two more individuals in connection with the fatal shooting of a cloth trader in East Delhi, where a dispute over parking allegedly escalated into murder.

The latest arrests include the stepson of the main accused and another alleged associate, taking the total number of people held in the case to three.

The victim, 34-year-old trader Pankaj Nayyar, was allegedly shot during a confrontation outside a residential building in Preet Vihar, where tensions reportedly flared over the parking of luxury vehicles.

According to investigators, an argument between the victim’s side and the accused escalated violently, with the prime suspect allegedly opening fire. One of the bullets struck Nayyar in the chest. He was taken to a private hospital but was declared dead.

Police said the main accused was arrested shortly after the incident, while teams used CCTV footage, surveillance inputs and field intelligence to track down the two others arrested on Tuesday.

Officials said the shooting followed a prolonged dispute related to parking arrangements, though investigators are examining whether other tensions may have contributed to the violence.

Another family member present during the altercation sustained minor injuries and was treated at a hospital before being discharged.

Police said the case remains under investigation, with further questioning underway to establish the roles of all those involved and reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the shooting.
