Triple Murder Accused Injured in Encounter, Two Arrested in Bulandshahr

Police Crackdown Intensifies After Birthday Party Shooting Leaves Three Dead

Bulandshahr- Two accused carrying a reward of ₹50,000 each have been arrested after being injured in a police encounter in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district, officials said on Wednesday.

The arrests come days after a brutal triple murder in the Khurja area, where three members of a family were shot dead during a birthday party on the night of April 25–26. The incident had triggered strict action against police personnel, with four officials, including a station house officer, suspended for alleged negligence.

According to police, the accused — identified as Rinku and Bharat — were apprehended by Khurja Nagar police along with a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team during a late-night operation near the Mundakheda canal.

Officials said the police had taken the accused to the location to recover a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) linked to the crime. During the operation, the accused allegedly attempted to escape and opened fire using concealed weapons.

The police retaliated in self-defence, injuring both accused in the legs before arresting them. They were later admitted to a hospital for treatment.

Police recovered an illegal pistol, a country-made firearm, cartridges, and the DVR from their possession.

The reward on the accused had been announced by Kalanidhi Naithani, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Meerut Range.

Earlier, another accused, Mayank, had also been arrested after an encounter, while two others had already been sent to jail in connection with the case.

Circle Officer Shobhit Kumar confirmed that the arrested accused were directly involved in the firing incident. He stated that further legal proceedings are underway.

The violence reportedly erupted after a dispute during the birthday celebration escalated, resulting in the killing of Amardeep, Manish, and Akash, who were related to each other.

Police have launched a wider crackdown to arrest the remaining accused involved in the case.
