New Delhi: Sheru Classic 2026, India’s premier health, fitness, and bodybuilding festival, concluded successfully at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, after a spectacular three-day run that attracted nearly 1.5 lakh visitors and around 250 athletes and fitness professionals from five countries.
The event once again showcased India’s growing influence in the global fitness industry while providing a major platform for emerging athletes to compete and gain international exposure. Over the years, Sheru Classic has evolved into one of the most significant fitness and bodybuilding events in Asia, serving as a launchpad for Indian talent aspiring to compete on the world stage.
Founded by renowned bodybuilder and entrepreneur Sheru Aangrish, the Sheru Classic brand has expanded far beyond India and now operates across nine countries. The platform collaborates with globally recognized organizations such as the IFBB Pro League and the National Physique Committee (NPC), organizing competitions and fitness expos in major international markets including the United States, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates.
Sheru Classic has played a pioneering role in the development of professional bodybuilding in India. In 2011, it hosted Asia’s first IFBB professional bodybuilding competition, marking a significant milestone for the sport in the region. Through its flagship events and the India Health and Fitness Festival (IHFF), the platform has helped numerous Indian athletes secure opportunities to compete internationally, including at prestigious events such as the Mr Olympia competition.
The journey of Sheru Classic mirrors that of its founder. Hailing from Ludhiana, Punjab, Sheru Aangrish began training in bodybuilding at a young age alongside his elder brother Hemant. He went on to earn recognition as Mr India and competed at the highest levels of professional bodybuilding. After completing his education in the United Kingdom and earning an MBA in Finance from King’s College London, Aangrish combined his passion for fitness with entrepreneurship to build what is now one of the world’s fastest-growing fitness platforms.
A major development for the brand this year has been the entry of JKC Sports, the sports venture of the JK Group, as a strategic investor in Sheru Classic Universe. The partnership aims to accelerate the platform’s global expansion and create greater opportunities for Indian athletes under the “Make in India” vision.
JKC Sports was established in 2025 by Raghavpat Singhania and Madhav Singhania of JK Cement and focuses on sports infrastructure, technology, athlete development, and fitness initiatives. Speaking about the partnership, company representatives emphasized their commitment to supporting sports as a driver of national development.
“Nation-building has been the JK Group’s philosophy for decades. Through JKC Sports, we now see sport and fitness as a future pillar of our growth,” the company said.
With record attendance, international participation, and strong industry backing, Sheru Classic 2026 has further strengthened its reputation as a world-class fitness festival and a key platform for promoting Indian talent on the global sporting stage.
