June 1, 2025– Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta took a holy dip in the sacred waters of the Ganga at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar today and prayed for the happiness, prosperity, good health, and progress of Delhi’s citizens. She also sought blessings from Maa Ganga to help make the Yamuna River in Delhi clean and pure. On this spiritual journey, the CM also participated in special programs and received blessings from revered saints including Didi Maa Ritambhara, Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji, Raj Rajeshwar Maharaj, and Swami Chidanand Saraswati. She also took part in the Ganga Aarti.
The Chief Minister is on a two-day spiritual visit to Uttarakhand after completing 100 days of her government. She departed from her residence in Delhi early in the morning along with her family and reached Har Ki Pauri, where she performed the Ganga snan (holy bath) and took part in the religious rituals organized by the Ganga Sabha. Ministers, MLAs, and party officials from the Uttarakhand Government were also present on this occasion.
Speaking to journalists, the CM said, “My prayer to Maa Ganga is for her blessings to always remain with us. May the divine grace help Delhi achieve new milestones in prosperity, safety, and development. The peace, energy, and spiritual fulfillment I experienced after taking a dip in the holy Ganga cannot be expressed in words.”
She added that she had performed Aarti at the Yamuna River in Delhi just the day before, and today, she worshipped Maa Ganga. She said, “My heartfelt wish is that just like the Ganga flows uninterrupted and pure here, the Yamuna in Delhi too should flow clean and serene. Our effort is to honor and nurture the faith and devotion that people of Delhi hold for Yamuna River.”
Later in the day, CM Rekha Gupta inaugurated the Vatsalya Ganga Ashray in Kankhal. The event was attended by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, Yug Purush Swami Paramanand Ji, Didi Maa Ritambhara, Acharya Balkrishna, Ravindra Puri Maharaj, Yamunapuri Maharaj, ministers, MLAs, and other dignitaries from the state.
During the inauguration, CM Rekha Gupta sought the blessings of saints and expressed a heartfelt desire that “I pray that one day, people will also bathe in the Yamuna River, sip its sacred water, and Aarti will be performed at all Yamuna ghats in Delhi.”
Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, extended his best wishes on behalf of the entire Devbhoomi and said, “May her tenure be successful and may she fulfill the expectations that Delhi has long awaited.”
After the inauguration, CM Rekha Gupta visited Harihar Ashram in Kankhal and received the blessings of Pujya Gurudev Avdheshanand Giri Ji, and later visited Jagadguru Ashram to meet Pujya Raj Rajeshwaram Maharaj. In the evening, she took part in the grand Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan Ghat, where she received blessings from Swami Chidanand Saraswati and renowned spiritual speaker Murli Ji.
Several ministers from Uttarakhand, including Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, MLAs, party officials, and distinguished members of various organizations also participated in the ceremony, making it a spiritually charged and momentous occasion.
