In a major boost for India’s gaming community, NVIDIA has officially introduced its cloud gaming platform, GeForce NOW, offering gamers a way to enjoy high-end titles without investing in costly consoles or powerful PCs. Currently available in beta, the service aims to make premium gaming far more accessible across devices.
Unlike traditional gaming setups that rely on expensive hardware, GeForce NOW operates through the cloud, enabling users to stream games directly on laptops, smartphones, desktops, and even smart TVs. This effectively removes the need for devices like the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series S, significantly lowering the entry barrier for gamers.
The platform integrates with existing game libraries, allowing users to access titles they already own on services such as Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox Game Pass. In addition, it supports thousands of games, including popular and free-to-play titles, expanding the overall gaming experience without requiring downloads or installations on local devices.
To attract early users, NVIDIA has rolled out introductory subscription plans. The Performance tier is priced at ₹999 for 90 days, while the Ultimate tier costs ₹1,999 for the same duration. Early adopters will also get optional cloud storage add-ons, enhancing flexibility for install-to-play games.
However, as a cloud-based service, performance depends heavily on internet quality. NVIDIA recommends a minimum speed of 15 Mbps for smooth gameplay, with better performance expected on wired or 5 GHz WiFi connections. The company plans to expand and refine the service further before its full-scale launch later this year.
With this move, NVIDIA is positioning GeForce NOW as a game-changer in India’s rapidly growing gaming market—potentially shifting the focus from hardware ownership to seamless, on-demand gaming experiences.
