New Delhi, September 19, 2026: The National Land Monetization Corporation Limited (NLMC) has recommended asset monetisation proposals worth more than ₹5,000 crore as part of efforts to accelerate the utilisation of surplus land and building assets owned by Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) and other government entities.
The decision was taken at the 21st meeting of the NLMC Board of Directors, held on September 18, where the board reviewed the progress of the corporation’s asset monetisation programme, financial performance and institutional initiatives.
The proposals involve surplus land and building assets identified for monetisation and are aimed at unlocking the value of underutilised public assets. The board stressed the need to maintain momentum and strengthen coordination with asset-owning entities to ensure that identified properties move through transparent and efficient monetisation processes.
During the meeting, the board reviewed NLMC’s work with CPSEs and other government organisations to identify suitable surplus assets, conduct due diligence, undertake valuation and develop appropriate monetisation mechanisms.
Discussions focused on expediting the process, addressing implementation requirements and ensuring timely progress of identified assets. The board also emphasised the importance of coordination among stakeholders to facilitate the efficient monetisation of surplus properties.
NLMC said its approach remains focused on transparency, efficiency and value realisation, with the objective of making productive use of public assets that could otherwise remain underutilised.
The board also approved the Annual Financial Statements and Directors’ Report for the financial year 2025–26.
The meeting further reviewed initiatives aimed at strengthening NLMC’s institutional and operational capabilities and developing a more structured framework for asset monetisation.
The recommendation of proposals involving assets worth over ₹5,000 crore marks a significant step in expanding NLMC’s role in the government’s broader asset monetisation programme.
