Faridabad, February 2, 2025: Faridabad Model School, Sector-31, organized a spectacular Sports & Appreciation Day on February 2, 2025, to recognize the achievements of its students in various sports and extracurricular activities. The event witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, inspiring athletes, and school management members, who encouraged students to excel beyond academics.
The Chief Guest for the event was Major General S.K. Datt (Retd.)-VSM, FIMA, Ph.D (Veteran), while Sh. Girraj Singh –Para Olympian, Dhyanchand & Bhim Awardee and Deputy Director Sports, Govt. of Haryana graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Other distinguished guests included Mr. AK Malik, Managing Director, FMS Managing Committee, former Advisor to the President of Zambia, and former Commissioner, Cabinet Secretariat, Govt. of India; Mr. SS Gossain, Chief Patron, HPSC; Rtn. H. S. Malik, Former Chairman, CWC, Govt. of Haryana; Mr. Dhruv Malik, Entrepreneur and Chairman of Venus Foods Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. SR Tewatia; Mrs. Raj Malik, Educational Counsellor and Founder Principal, FMS Sec-48; Mrs. Shreya Malik, Assistant Vice President, Projects, IIT Kanpur; Academic Director Mrs. Shashi Bala; and Director Principal Mr. Umang Malik.
The celebration commenced with a lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing knowledge and enlightenment. Major General S.K. Datt, as the Chief Guest, proudly unfurled the school flag, marking the beginning of the day’s events. The students showcased an impressive March Past, displaying their discipline, coordination, and teamwork, followed by captivating dance drills that reflected their physical agility and artistic talent.
A highlight of the event was the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where FMS Founder’s Scholarship awardees for the session 2024-25, along with other meritorious students who had won accolades at district, state, and national levels, were honored for their outstanding performances. The Chief Guest, Major General S.K. Datt, and Guest of Honour, Sh. Girraj Singh, congratulated the achievers and their parents. They emphasized the importance of sports and extracurricular activities in a student’s holistic development and motivated them to strive for excellence in their respective fields.
FMS Chairman Rtn. H.S. Malik praised the students for their remarkable performances and encouraged them to be the torchbearers of nation-building. He extended his appreciation to the FMS faculty and staff for organizing such a grand and successful event and expressed gratitude to the parents for their unwavering support and cooperation.
The grand event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving behind an inspiring message of perseverance, sportsmanship, and academic excellence for all attendees.
