Faridabad, January 25– The Governor of Haryana, Bandaru Dattatreya, emphasized that the Constitution of India not only makes us aware of our rights but also guides us in fulfilling our duties. Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution, this milestone serves as a powerful medium to acquaint citizens with its objectives. Governor Bandaru Dattatreya participated as the chief guest at the state-level event themed ‘Our Constitution – Our Pride’, organized by the district administration at Hotel Radisson Blu, Faridabad, on Saturday. During the event, the Preamble of the Constitution was read in a dignified manner. Deputy Commissioner Vikram Singh welcomed the Governor and introduced the program’s framework. The event commenced formally with the lighting of the lamp.

In his address, the Governor stated that the Preamble of the Constitution imparts knowledge about citizens’ rights and the responsibilities they hold as empowered individuals. He emphasized the importance of such events in educating the younger generation about the Constitution in detail. He further remarked that the Constitution encompasses all means of living a harmonious life within society. Encouraging the youth to read the Constitution, he motivated them to understand their rights and strive to become exemplary citizens contributing to the nation’s service. He described the Constitution as “our strength and our pride”. The chief guest also honored winners of various competitions organized under the theme ‘Our Constitution – Our Pride’ by distributing certificates of merit.

During the event, the Governor highlighted that the words ‘We, the People of India’ in the Preamble signify that the true source of power lies with the enlightened members of society. It embodies the principles of equality, liberty, and fraternity, serving as the foundation of our unity and identity. The Constitution, he added, also teaches us about fundamental duties, including maintaining the nation’s unity and integrity, protecting the environment, and respecting our rich cultural heritage.

The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner Vikram Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sahil Gupta, SDM Ballabhgarh Mayank Bhardwaj, DIPRO Dinesh Kumar, industrialist SS Banga and other officials participants.
