Lucknow, January11, 2025: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday instructed officials to arrange extensive bus services from all districts of Uttar Pradesh to ensure smooth travel for devotees visiting the sacred Sangam during the upcoming Maha Kumbh.
The Chief Minister issued these directives during a meeting with officials of the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) to evaluate the preparations for the grand religious event.
He emphasized that bus services should operate throughout the duration of the Maha Kumbh and not be limited to major bathing days. This approach, he noted, would ensure continuous and hassle-free travel for all pilgrims. The CM also urged officials to publicize a comprehensive timetable for the bus services widely, enabling devotees to plan their journeys with ease.
“No pilgrim should face difficulties during their travel,” Yogi Adityanath asserted.
The Chief Minister further instructed strict monitoring to ensure that bus drivers and conductors abstain from consuming any intoxicants while on duty. Additionally, private bus operators were warned to adhere to fixed fares and maintain strict compliance with capacity regulations to prevent overloading and avoid exploitation of passengers.
UPSRTC is gearing up to deploy approximately 7,000 buses exclusively for Maha Kumbh pilgrims, including 550 shuttle buses dedicated to facilitating easy movement within the fairgrounds. This initiative aims to enhance mobility and provide a seamless experience for the lakhs of devotees expected to attend.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Transport, Principal Secretary of the Transport Department, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, and the Managing Director of UPSRTC, among others.
The Chief Minister’s directives reflect his commitment to ensuring an organized and comfortable pilgrimage experience for all visitors to the Maha Kumbh, which holds immense cultural and spiritual significance.
