4 soldiers killed, 2 injured as Army truck falls into deep gorge in Bandipora

Srinagar, Jan 4: Four soldiers were killed, and two others sustained critical injuries when the Army truck carrying the personnel skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday, officials said. They said an Army truck carrying the personnel skidded off the road near the SK Payeen area along the Srinagar Bandipora highway and fell into a deep gorge. “The six injured soldiers were taken to a local hospital where three of them were declared brought dead. One of the injured later succumbed to injuries ,” officials said. Three critical injured soldiers have been shifted to Srinagar for advance treatment. There is no official word from the Army about the accident so far. This is the second tragic accident in Jammu and Kashmir in the last two weeks when the Army suffered casualties. On December 25, five soldiers died and five others sustained critical injuries after their vehicle skidded off the road along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district.
