Lucknow, July 10 2024 : In a significant move under the Mission Rozgar initiative, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed appointment letters to 7,720 newly appointed Lekhpals at Lok Bhavan. These appointments were made through a fair and transparent recruitment process by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission.

Addressing the new appointees, CM Yogi emphasized the importance of their role in promoting ‘ease of doing business’ and enhancing the ‘ease of living’ for the poor. He urged them to work diligently without relying on recommendations and to focus their energy on improving the lives of the disadvantaged.

“The selection process was carried out with complete fairness and transparency, with no discrimination or need for recommendations. It is your duty to enhance both the ease of doing business in the state and the quality of life for the poor,” said Yogi. He highlighted the importance of timely completion of tasks related to inheritance, transfers, and land measurement, and urged Lekhpals to maintain a positive reputation among the people.

During the event, a short film on Mission Rozgar was screened. CM Yogi stressed the crucial role of Lekhpals in public service, including tasks like land leasing, inheritance procedures, property transfers, and facilitating investment opportunities. He also addressed the need for timely resolution of minor land disputes and strict measures against illegal land occupation by mafias.

The Chief Minister also spoke about the importance of timely processing of investment proposals and urged Lekhpals to expedite relief efforts during disasters. He highlighted the ongoing digitization of the revenue system and the distribution of laptops and tablets to facilitate this process.

Yogi mentioned that the Gharauni initiative has already provided ownership to over 6.3 million people residing in rural areas and aims to reach all 12.5 million families by the end of the year. He praised the Revenue Department and the Selection Commission for their perseverance in ensuring a fair selection process despite challenges.

“We have submitted requisitions for an additional 4,700 appointments, which we aim to finalize soon. This will help resolve the shortage of Lekhpals and reach our target of appointing 3,837 Lekhpals,” he stated.
