The Impressive TimesNew Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday assured that those found responsible for the alleged NEET paper leak and other examination irregularities will face strict legal action. Addressing the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parliamentary party meeting, the Prime Minister urged MPs to engage with young people and reassure them that the government is committed to protecting students’ interests.
According to sources present at the meeting, PM Modi said that individuals arrested in connection with the paper leak cases would be punished in accordance with the law. He also asked lawmakers to communicate the government’s position to students and ensure they remain confident in the country’s examination system.
The Prime Minister’s remarks come amid ongoing protests over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations. Demonstrations have continued both inside and outside Parliament since the start of the Monsoon Session, with opposition parties raising concerns over paper leaks and demanding accountability.
During the meeting, PM Modi also highlighted the achievements of India’s youth and emphasised the government’s commitment to creating a transparent and fair examination process.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the Prime Minister provided guidance on several important national issues, including recent economic achievements and India’s Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with different countries.
Rijiju added that the Prime Minister reiterated that farmers’ welfare would remain a priority while negotiating international trade agreements, ensuring that every FTA serves the interests of both the farming community and the nation.
The meeting also welcomed newly elected Rajya Sabha members, while BJP President Nitin Nabin attended the NDA parliamentary gathering for the first time after assuming the party’s top organisational post.
