Hyderabad, November 4: A late-night raid by Telangana’s Excise Special Task Force (STF) has exposed a sprawling drug network operating out of the rented home of a post-graduate doctor in Hyderabad’s Musheerabad area. The residence, authorities revealed, served as the main distribution point for narcotics being supplied across the city.

According to officials, the STF’s ‘B Team’ conducted the raid at the residence of Dr. John Paul, recovering six categories of high-value narcotics worth nearly ₹3 lakh on the street. Paul was arrested on the spot, while three of his alleged associates — Pramod, Sandeep, and Sharath (also known as Saratulu) — remain absconding.

Investigators said that Paul, originally a drug user, became an active participant in trafficking to sustain his addiction. His co-accused reportedly sourced narcotics from major cities including Delhi and Bengaluru before delivering them to Paul’s home, which doubled as both a storage unit and sales center. In return, the doctor was allowed to consume the drugs without charge.

During the operation, the STF seized a wide range of controlled substances from the premises, including OG Kush (26.95 grams), MDMA (6.21 grams), 15 LSD sticks, Cocaine (1.32 grams), Gummus (5.80 grams), and Hashish Oil (0.008 grams).

Officials described the seizure as a significant breakthrough in dismantling a network that blended professional respectability with criminal activity. The STF has launched a search to locate the remaining members of the syndicate and trace the wider supply chain linking Hyderabad to interstate sources.
