Wage Protest Erupts in Greater Noida, Calm Restored After Talks Amid Tight Security

Noida, April 15, 2026: Workers at Shiv Nadar University in the Dadri area staged a demonstration on Wednesday seeking higher wages and improved overtime compensation, while authorities confirmed that the situation was brought under control after dialogue with the protesters.

A large number of workers gathered outside the university’s main gate, sitting on the road and raising slogans in support of their demands. The demonstrators called for a salary increase along with enhanced overtime pay, highlighting long standing concerns over compensation.

Police officials stated that the protest remained peaceful and ended shortly after discussions were held with representatives of the workers. According to officials, normalcy returned to the area and no agitation continued at the site.

In response to recent incidents of unrest in the region, Gautam Buddha Nagar Police intensified security arrangements across multiple locations. Senior officers conducted patrols and reviewed preparedness to ensure that law and order is maintained.

Security personnel carried out marches in sensitive zones, aiming to reassure residents and discourage any attempts to disturb peace. Authorities also directed teams to remain alert and continue regular patrolling across key areas.
