Faridabad, June 7 – A horrific accident on National Highway-19 in the early hours of Saturday claimed three lives and left five others in critical condition after a high-speed collision near JCB Chowk in Sector-55.
The crash, which occurred around 2:00 am, involved a Maruti Ertiga carrying employees of JCB India Limited and an MG Hector SUV. According to the police, the JCB workers were returning to their homes in Hodal and Palwal after completing a night shift at the company’s headquarters.
As the Ertiga reached the intersection near Sector-55, the speeding Hector, reportedly approaching from the right, slammed into it with such force that the Ertiga somersaulted several times before catching fire.
Station House Officer Vinod Kumar of Sector-58 Police Station confirmed the identities of the deceased as Tevinder, Manish, and Deepanshu—young men aged between 25 and 30. Two other JCB employees inside the same car also sustained serious injuries.
“The impact was devastating. The Ertiga was flung off balance and caught fire soon after flipping. Locals and our team rushed in, managed to pull out the victims, and sent them to nearby hospitals. Unfortunately, three were declared brought dead,” Kumar said.
All three occupants of the MG Hector also suffered severe injuries and remain in critical condition.
Police suspect rash driving to be the cause of the collision, citing preliminary findings that suggest the Hector did not slow down at the intersection. The bodies of the deceased have been sent to Badshah Khan Civil Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
An FIR will be filed once the police receive a formal complaint. Investigations are underway to confirm the exact sequence of events that led to the deadly mishap.
