Victim assaulted after argument over unpaid wedding dues accused arrested two minors detained
The Impressive TimesNew Delhi- A confectioner was seriously injured after being attacked with a power grinder following a payment dispute in the city, police said on Saturday.
The incident occurred in Vijay Enclave under the jurisdiction of Delhi Police. The victim, identified as Lokesh Gupta, was found bleeding heavily after the assault.
According to investigators, Gupta had provided catering services for a wedding organised by Ajay Pal. Out of a total bill of ₹2.5 lakh, around ₹2 lakh was allegedly unpaid. When Gupta went to demand the remaining amount, an argument broke out.
Police said the accused, along with a few associates, allegedly overpowered Gupta and took him to the rooftop, where his hands were badly injured using a grinder.
He was first taken to a nearby hospital and later shifted to AIIMS due to the severity of his injuries. Doctors described the wounds as serious.
A case has been registered and an investigation is underway. Ajay Pal has been arrested, while two minors have been apprehended. Police are working to identify others who may have been involved.
Officials said the attack appears to have been triggered by a financial dispute and assured that strict action will be taken.
